Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia's rally manager Kath Breen, from Kyneton, said she expected more than 800 RV owners to register for the 34th national rally, which would bring almost 1500 members to Elmore Events Centre, Elmore, in October.
It was expected that travellers would not only attend the eight-day rally but would also take the opportunity to explore the many small towns and larger country cities before and after the event.
The economic boost for a region is estimated at being as high as $1.5-$2 million with repeat visits from members.
The week is full of activity. Seminars, games, music, craft and entertainment all feature in the program.
On Wednesday, October 23, there will be a distinct pink flavour as members “pink up the rally” in support of McGrath Foundation.
Tours during the rally will introduce members from other states to the wonderful attractions of the Elmore region.
Although the rally is for CMCA members only, there are many opportunities for local communities and businesses to be involved.
On Saturday, October 26, the rally will open its gates to the public.
Entry is by gold coin, with the donation supporting Rochester Community House.
Traders from the monthly Rochester Market have decided to bring their stalls to Elmore for the day to join with member stallholders for an exciting market event.
