Supportive, but after details

Federal Member for Murray Sharman Stone has given qualified support for the $1 billion Stage 2 of the Foodbowl Modernisation Project, if the Coalition is elected.

The business case for the second stage is currently with Federal Water Minister Penny Wong.

She is waiting for Victoria to approve a bulk entitlement order, which will specify where the water savings will go, but the Upper House has been blocking the change.

Dr Stone said she wanted to see $1 billion spent on the region but hadn't seen the details and wanted more consultation.
