Widespread showers and strong winds are likely across Victoria this weekend as a vigorous cold front sweeps over south-eastern Australia.
``After a mild week, one of the strongest cold fronts so far this year will blast across the south-east this weekend,'' Tom Saunders, meteorologist at The Weather Channel, predicted yesterday.
``The front will generate potentially damaging winds, heavy showers, thunderstorms and small hail across most of Victoria.
