Ms Atkinson said the aim had been to create a safe space for women to gather, create art and discuss any family violence issues that may be affecting them.
She said the initial exhibition had been inspiring.
“The pride I saw at the workshops and exhibition was amazing,’’ Ms Atkinson said.
“It was life-changing. Some of the women didn’t know they could paint or weave, but they gave it a go.”
The project has been delivered in partnership with Primary Care Connect.
The new art show is part of a busy program of Kaiela Arts exhibitions and events in Shepparton and Melbourne over the next month, leading up to and during the Shepparton Festival.
A stock room sale of discounted original artwork is currently on at the gallery until the end of February.
Tomorrow's Empowering the Phoenix exhibition launch runs from 6 pm to 8 pm at the gallery at 137-139 High St, Shepparton.
