The intraclub Twenty20 game is played in memory of club premiership captain Kym Sugars.
This year will be even more exciting as it would have been Sugars’ 60th birthday in April, so the club will be buzzing.
‘‘This is a great time that we can get around the club and celebrate a great player and mate from the club,’’ club president Aaron Di Fede said.
The club has hosted the event with local charity Leading From Within since its inception back in 2008-09, seeing club legends face off against players of the current generation.
This year sees captains Aaron Di Fede (President’s XI) and Sam O’Brien (Captain’s XI) take to the field for the first time in such a great event.
The duo released respective squads after Thursday night training, causing lots of hype around the club.
There will be a barbecue lunch as well as auctions, raffles and on-field entertainment.
Sugars played 146 matches for the club from 1990 to 2001, scoring 1737 runs at 18.48, including four 50s, and taking 227 wickets at 14.84 with six five-wicket hauls.
He also took 57 catches, but it was his mentoring role off the field that had the most impact in the club with lots of youngsters looking up to him.
