The Federal Government-funded awards are organised by Alcohol and Drug Foundation and recognise inspiring clubs and passionate volunteers that build healthy and inclusive club environments.
Alcohol and Drug Foundation chief executive Dr Erin Lalor said Good Sports was working with more than 9500 community sports clubs across Australia to build a healthier nation.
“The Good Sports Awards celebrate the clubs and people that are passionate about community, their members and making their club the very best it can be,” Dr Lalor said.
There are a range of awards for which people can nominate their club, such as Club of the Year, Club Champion, Healthy Eating Club, Healthy Minds Club and Junior Club.
More than 50 community sporting clubs in Shepparton are part of the Good Sports program, which provides resources and training to help create more family-friendly environments where club members look out for one another in the areas of alcohol management, tobacco and safe transport.
Entries for the awards close on Monday, September 30 and winners will be announced in November.
