The body was found in the vicinity of Common Track by members of the public who quickly notified police.
Shepparton Police processed the site in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Although investigations are still continuing, police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Senior Constable Lance Wiltshire said the case has been handed over to the coroner.
Police could not confirm the gender or identity of the deceased.
A small campsite was found near the body, but it is unknown how long the person had been out in the bushland or when they had died.
