Video: Shepparton Police hold press conference following assault

After shutting down the party, police came under abuse from a group of youths on Numurkah Rd.

A male officer was allegedly punched in the head, according to a Victoria Police spokeswoman.

A female officer was also allegedly injured when a second male was being arrested. The male allegedly assaulted and fell on the female officer.

“Both Constables were taken to hospital where they remain with serious head injuries and serious leg injuries,” the spokeswoman said.

Two youths, 16, from Mooroopna are assisting with enquiries according to police.
