Cobram Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged six men following a cross-regional day of action into residential and commercial burglaries in Yarrawonga, Echuca, Numurkah and Cobram between December 2018 and January 2019.

Police executed warrants and raided several properties in Echuca at around 6am on Tuesday, February 5 seizing a yellow coloured Holden Monaro, firearms, stolen tools, a stolen motorbike, firearms scope, a safe, a conducted energy device, a fire starter, rifle stock and an ammunition belt.
A 33-year-old Echuca man has been charged and is to face Echuca Magistrates Court on April 2 in relation to the burglary at Yarrawonga Marine & Mower Centre on January 6. Two chain saws were stolen, and damage was done to the front door and office door. He has been charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, four counts of burglary, handling stolen goods, theft and theft of a motor vehicle.
More than 40 charges have been laid against the six men. Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd at Cobram said the joint investigation by detectives from Victoria Police’s Eastern and Western regions into the spate of burglaries and resultant charges proved successful.
“It was a fruitful investigation and investigations are continuing,” Det. Sgt. Boyd told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“Our cross regional law enforcement model continues to evolve with excellent information sharing and joint investigations,” Wangaratta Inspector Kerrie Hicks said.

A 28-year-old Echuca man has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing methylamphetamine. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on April 30.
A 34-year-old man from Echuca has been charged with four counts of burglary, possessing methylamphetamine, dealing with the proceeds of crime, theft, handling stolen goods and firearms offences. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on April 2.
A 28-year-old man from Kyabram has been charged with possession of an unregistered firearm, handling stolen goods and possessing cannabis. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on April 30.
A 26-year-old man from Echuca has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, handling stolen goods, dangerous driving and committing indictable offences whilst on bail. He has been remanded to appear at court at a later date.
And a 28-year-old man from Echuca was charged with one count of handling stolen goods. He will also face court at a later date.
