Locals are invited to get on board with the musical movement of the unknown.
Event organiser Jamie Lea said the Secret Garden Gigs began five years ago as a way of bringing music to people in new and exciting ways.
‘‘Essentially you don’t know who’s going to be playing, you don’t know where you’re going, but you have faith and trust that we will put on a good show,’’ Ms Lea said.
She said when booking in, people would only be notified of the gig’s location on the morning of the event.
Ms Lea said guests could rest assured knowing they were entering a safe, welcoming and laid-back environment with quality live music.
‘‘It’s for music lovers, it’s for families, it’s for anyone who just wants a unique and unusual night,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s also cost effective — If you want to bring a $2 bottle of soft drink and some fish and chips — it’s a really cheap night out.’’
Ms Lea said the events were an opportunity to witness musical talent, but also to meet other like-minded people.
‘‘We’re supporting local talent, but we’re supporting each other in a sense because we’re making that community and getting them to socialise.’’
Ms Lea said since beginning five years ago, the gigs had grown to become a popular music event for people of the Shepparton area and surroundings.
She said with past gigs held in places including Tallygaroopna, Cobram, Dookie and Benalla, Ms Lea looked forward to taking upcoming gigs to other unknown areas.
Ms Lea said the those who wished to take part in any of the Secret Garden events were able to sign up to a mailing list that would notify them of upcoming events.
‘‘The idea is you’ll become a part of the tribe and together we will roam the countryside.’’
The first of the Secret Garden Gigs for 2019 will be held this Saturday from 6.30pm. For more information, visit www.thesecretgardengigs.
