The ‘Marking the Nature of Things’ residency runs from Saturday to April 18, before the exhibition runs from April 18 to 25.
A store spokesperson said the artists would run workshops for a range of different ages and groups to create a collaborative community artwork using clay and foraged natural materials.
‘‘Participants will be able to keep their individual contributions after the exhibition finishes,’’ they said.
Five workshops will be held during the residency, including two exploring the theme ‘Making the Invisible Visible’, supported by the Vision Initiative.
‘‘The G.R.A.I.N. Store is excited to be working with this organisation for the first time and believe the arts can play a major role in health awareness by encouraging communities to come together, talk and create in supportive and relaxed environments,’’ the spokesperson said.
During the open studio sessions, anyone can drop by to see the artists while they work, ask questions and get a feel for an art making environment.
‘‘The artists are looking forward to engaging with the community about the project and their own arts practices,’’ they spokesperson said.
‘‘We hope that all workshop participants, friends, family, other members of the community and beyond will come to celebrate with the artists and see the finished product and how the project has progressed.’’
The workshops run at different times on different days. Details can be found on The G.R.A.I.N Store’s website. Bookings can also be made via the website. The exhibition opens on Thursday, April 18, at 2pm at the store, Blake St, Nathalia.
