This year the event will combine with Dookie to become the Devenish, Dookie and District Good Friday Appeal fun day and auction with the event to be held at the Dookie Recreation Reserve on Saturday, March 16.
In the past the event has been held at the Devenish Memorial Sports Ground and has become one of the biggest Royal Children’s Hospital fundraisers in the region with the day raising close to $100,000 in the past two years, a massive feat for a town with a population less than 400.
The day commences at 2pm and even just the food is worth coming down for.
Lamb and pig on a spit will get you off to a well-fed afternoon with the traditional BBQ with hamburgers and sausages and a food van also on offer.
For those who fancy a cold drink, there will be a fully licensed bar operating in the club rooms as well.
Raffles will be held throughout the day, as well as a spinning wheel both with superb prizes.
At 3pm a massive auction will take place with plenty of gear for mums and dads, with an auction for the kids at 2pm.
There will be plenty to see and do especially for the kids with lucky dip prizes, face painting, jumping castles and plenty of rides and activities to keep them entertained.
The whole family can also get down to the live music on offer throughout the day.
The event will end with a spectacular firework display at 8.30pm to light up in the skies in aid of a terrific cause.
The fun day and auction committee gratefully accept all generous donations towards the auctions and raffle prizes as well as monetary donations, with all enquiries to be made to Royal Children’s Hospital area manager Neil Lonie on 0427 644 366.
Come on down, enjoy the festivities, experience country life and help raise money for a tremendous cause.
