Aditya Bhat, Farhan Islam and Paige Nelson were recognised at this year’s Premier’s VCE Awards at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
GV Grammar principal Mark Torriero said over the years a substantial number of the school’s students had achieved this outstanding distinction.
‘‘Aditya was recognised for his achievement in music performance during Year 12 and both Farhan Islam and Paige Nelson undertook acceleration studies during Year 11,’’ Mr Torriero said.
He said Farhan received his award for Indonesian second language, while Paige received her award for industry and enterprise.
The students were also involved in several aspects of the school’s co-curricular program.
‘‘They were all active in student leadership and representing the school in regular weekend team sport, including while in Year 12,’’ he said.
‘‘Aditya and Farhan were also heavily involved in the school’s public speaking and performing arts program.’’
Congratulating the students on their dedication to learning, organisation and discipline demonstrated during their studies, Mr Torriero said seizing opportunities was the key to success.
He said the students’ achievements reflected the school’s culture of learning and quality of teaching provided.
‘‘On behalf of the school community, I congratulate teachers Mrs Bihun, Ibu Ruci and Mrs Bayly. Their hard work, encouragement and commitment to learning were clearly inspirational for our students,’’ he said.
Each year the Victorian Department of Education and Training recognises excellence in learning achievement among VCE students.
