The question ‘‘What’s on at your garden?’’ was answered for visitors to Shepparton’s Botanic Gardens at an open day yesterday.
That answer — plenty.
The gardens were overrun with activities — orienteering, barbecue, a plant sale and a high-tech check of the garden precinct’s nest boxes that many winged residents call home.
The latest two permanent sculptural installations were also unveiled — a caterpillar and cocoon, near the Botanic Gardens Ave entrance.
City of Greater Shepparton Deputy Mayor Seema Abdullah opened the well-attended day out, which included botanical explorer stations, a wildlife detective walk, and a habitat at home workshop in the weaving garden.
