In good Schape: Congupna's Daniel Schaper ran all day against Shepparton East.

For the first time in more than a decade, all four of Congupna’s football sides had wins.

The successful day climaxed with The Road’s senior side bouncing back from a disappointing week to record a commanding 35-point win over Shepparton East.

Despite a lapse in the third quarter where it had four goals kicked against it Congupna had too many contributors across the ground.

The Road eventually ran out comprehensive winners 16.6 (102) to the Eagles 9.13 (67).

Murray Bushranger James Boyer was excellent slotting four goals and Daniel Schaper ‘‘ran his guts out all day’’.

‘‘Daniel just ran and ran all day, he worked really strong up the ground and took some good marks,’’ Congupna coach David Gee said.

‘‘His work-rate was second to none and he was rewarded himself with a handful of goals.’’

Gee said Boyer was one to keep an eye on and said the young star had a big future ahead of him.

‘‘He was really dominant for the whole game and proved how good he was, he’s got a lot of composure for a youngster,’’ he said.

‘‘We got him this week because they (Bushies) had the bye.’’

A big crowd watched the two teams battle it out at Memorial Park which looked over at quarter-time when Congupna kicked five goals to one.

‘‘We had a really poor performance last week and we had to step up and prove to ourselves that we can play some decent footy,’’ Gee said.

‘‘We’ve got a style were we want to take the game on, it’s costly if we turn it over, but we’ve been concentrating on our two-way running.

‘‘That was the best game of our season on Saturday, I thought.’’

Shepparton East was disappointing from the outset with forward Duane Hueston providing a positive by kicking four goals.

Eagles coach Dwain Vidler also performed strongly and was supported by Damon Carroll and Campbell Marx.
