Keeping it in the family: The Deniliquin Rovers had five brothers take the field against Jerilderie last week. Lining up was Damian and Brendan Hope, Joe and Alex Hay, Ben and Dylan East, Dylan and Andrew May and Nathan and Dylan Kerr.

There is no doubting the Deniliquin Rovers Football Netball Club is a family one, and that was highlighted with the Roos having five sets of brothers line up in their senior side last Saturday.

Andrew and Dylan May, Brendan and Damian Hope, Alex and Joe Hay, Dylan and Nathan Kerr and Dylan and Ben East were all a part of the Rovers’ massive 155-point win over Jerilderie in round four of Picola District Football League.

But it wasn’t the first time the club has achieved the feat, with the Roos having five sets of brothers compete against Blighty in round one last year.

Remarkably, there were three different sets of brothers in that side.

‘‘We did it last year with the Braybons (Nick and Marc), McCullochs (Rhys and Jordyn), a different set of Hay brothers (Luke and Nick) as well as the Mays and Hopes on Warner Tasker Cup day,’’ Rovers president Wally Bulmer said.

‘‘On top of that we have other connections like fathers and sons playing senior footy and junior footy as well as brothers and sisters playing footy and netball.’’
