Emergency services have found the body of a 62-year-old man in the backyard of a house in Ryan St, Benalla, after the house was destroyed by a fire early yesterday.
The man, who has not been named, was found in the garden of the property after CFA and police attended the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.
Police forensic experts were at the scene yesterday and prepared a report for the Coroner.
