Time to be active

April 11, 2018

Sienna Beckingham leads the race.

Children enjoyed It's Party Time Jumping Castles' pedal go-karts at SPC KidsTown yesterday.

Marcelle, 4, and Darcy Cordner, 6, cheer on from the side lines.

Tom Mackie is ready to have a g in the go-karts.

Axel, 9, Layla, 8 months, Sarah and Chloe Irwin, 3 wait in line.

It’s Party Time Jumping Castles' family, Ellie, Rowan and Jessica supervise the race.

Shepparton’s SPC KidsTown is giving district children the chance to take part in Kids Get Active April campaign.

As part of Greater Shepparton City Council’s Activities in the Park, every day this week SPC KidsTown is offering a variety of ‘chatter boxes’ to make and a healthy food recipe of the day.

SPC KidsTown duty supervisor Leanne Houkes-Wilson said it was a fun event that helped children be active and learn about fresh fruit and fitness.

‘‘Inside the chatter boxes are activities to do around the playground to get active,’’ Mrs Houkes-Wilson said.

‘‘There’s three different chatter boxes they can chose from or pick as a family.

‘‘We’ve also got ideas for parents about what the healthy eating guide is.’’

Yesterday’s main attraction was the pedal go-karts inflatable race track set up in the car park.

It’s Party Time Jumping Castles owner Rowan Simpson said he loved seeing the children out and about being active.

‘‘We believe that in a world now dominated by technology and video games we see fewer children outside,’’ Mr Simpson said.

‘‘It is this very fact that sees us so passionate about BERG pedal go-karts and gives us the drive to promote the products.’’

The children cheered on their friends and family and raced for hours.
