Princess Leia (Emma Kennedy) is looking forward to celebrating May 4 at the Shepparton Library.

Shepparton library is preparing to share the force next month.

Miniature Princess Leias, Luke Skywalkers and Darth Vaders will fill the library on May 4, celebrating all things Star Wars.

The Shepparton library’s children and youth services librarian Emma Kennedy said there would be competitions with prizes for best costume, Star Wars Guess Who, I Spy and a Jedi training quiz.

‘‘Children can build a droid at our Star Wars craft table, which will be well stocked with all sorts of Star Wars-themed craft activities,’’ she said.

‘‘The Friends of Shepparton Library are generously sponsoring prizes for the afternoon.’’

Ms Kennedy said the event was open to children, families and anyone who loved Star Wars.

‘May the 4th Be With You’ is an international event, bringing people together to celebrate the movies, animated series, characters and the fun of Star Wars.

Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You) will be celebrated at Shepparton library, 41-43 Marungi St, Shepparton on Friday, May 4, from 4pm to 6pm.
