Shepparton and District Dahlia Club had its annual flower show at the Riverside Plaza on Saturday.
Twelve exhibitors displayed 315 dahlia blooms, with most travelling from Berri (South Australia), Portland, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. There were five local growers.
Judge Alf Hardingham, from Portland, described the quality of blooms as ‘‘above average and a pleasure to judge’’.
Club president Rodney Clarke said the event was a huge success.
‘‘Riverside Plaza was a tremendous place to have our show, with many patrons spending time to look and ask inquiring questions,’’ Mr Clarke said.
All proceeds from flower sales went to the Royal Children’s Hospital, with a total of $300 raised.
Exhibitors spent Sunday at Invergordon looking over their dahlia patch and enjoying a social time together.
‘‘All in all, an excellent weekend,’’ Mr Clarke said.
