Five Country Fire Authority tankers attended a bushfire in Shepparton Regional Park behind Tom Collins Dve yesterday.
Warm and windy conditions enabled the fire to spread quickly, burning almost 2ha of forest.
Tankers from Shepparton, Kialla, Mooroopna and Shepparton East were on scene with 20 personnel on the ground and the help of a water-bombing aircraft above.
Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning had three units on scene as the fire was on Crown land.
They will further investigate the cause of the fire.
Shepparton CFA station officer Paul McKendrick encouraged everyone to continue adhering to fire danger warnings this month.
‘‘This really shows everyone that the fire season isn’t over,’’ Mr McKendrick said.
‘‘The fuel is still dry and available to burn.’’
