Three women were arrested in Shepparton on Saturday after their car was found to be a possible clandestine laboratory.

Shepparton police stopped the vehicle about 10.30am on the Peter Ross-Edwards Causeway.

Senior Constable Leon Schroeter said equipment that could be used to make methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle.

‘‘Further items were located in the vehicle which are yet to be investigated,’’ he said.

‘‘The specialist squad from Melbourne attended, with the vehicle being towed to Mooroopna police station for further investigation.’’

Three women aged 28, 38 and 26 were arrested at the scene, with one bailed and the other two remanded in custody.
