Shepparton Access service users, Leon Ahmat and Kate Welfare show their work in mosaic plant pots

Shepparton Access is making the most of South Shepparton Community Centre’s arts and crafts program, this term attending Mosaics for Beginners.

The mosaic class is open for everyone to attend, from 9.30am on Thursdays, when Diane Cook demonstrates how to work with mosaics and encourages personal design.

South Shepparton Community Centre manager Dawn Taylor said the arts and crafts programs were popular with Shepparton Access.

‘‘Shepparton Access and South Shepparton Community Centre have been in partnership for many years,’’ Mrs Taylor said.

The attendees started with designing cup coasters and house number plaques and are moving onto plant pots.

Shepparton Access disability support worker Lesley McLellan said the service’s clients were enjoying the mosaic class.

‘‘The biggest thing for our guys is bringing them out into the community and interacting with people who share the same interests as them. As long as it’s running, we’ll continue to utilise it,’’ Ms McLellan said.

To attend Mosaics for Beginners class, phone South Shepparton Community Centre on 58216172 or show up on the day to the centre at 11 Service St, Shepparton.

Cost is $5.
