It’s a yellow and black verandah

HE’S Tigers mad.

Kyabram builder Stephen Warde has built his best creation yet — a shrine to the Richmond Tigers — and it took him two days.

His obsession with the Tigers started after his father took him to watch the 1969 VFL grand final, where they were victorious against Carlton.

But it was only last year that his passion was reignited.

“I’d buy something every now and then when we had some spare cash,” he said.

“But because they won last year I went a bit overboard and bought a whole lot of posters, then I had no idea where to put them all.”

His solution to this?

Put up a wall under his back verandah to hold the memorabilia, of course.

And he had it filled by the Sunday night.

“I got all the posters and put them in frames, but the toughest part was trying to decide what should go where,” he said.

While he’s still waiting on an item or two, Stephen said he wasn’t looking to expand his collection any time soon — although his wife offered him her North Melbourne scarf.

And he can’t for the life of him find a place to put it.

“There’d be nowhere to put it all, I’d have to build a bigger shed out the back,” he said.
