Several little hands painted a huge canvas in Shepparton’s Queen’s Gardens recently.

Run as part of the Shepparton Art Museum’s Little Hands program, the gallery has reinstated its children’s initiatives this year.

Cultural development public programs officer Feyza Yazar said SAM Little Hands would run fortnightly for preschool-aged children.

‘‘An amazing amount of feedback from program participants in 2017 and a greater demand for programs for young families and children means we are running SAM Little Hands and SAM Art Club fortnightly in 2018,’’ Ms Yazar said.

School-aged children will be able to join in the fun during SAM Art Club sessions, which are on after school hours.

The first SAM Little Hands session for the year sold out, so Ms Yazar encouraged families to book in fast for the upcoming sessions.

‘‘SAM is trying to get little people interested in and enjoying art,’’ she said.

The next SAM Art Club session will be on February 20 from 4pm to 5.30pm and the next SAM Little Hands session will be on February 21 from 10.30am to 11.15am.
