A spate of burglaries across the Tatura vicinity has brought a timely reminder from police for residents to report any suspicious behaviour.

A number of rural properties were targeted at Burnside-Kyabram Rd, Brewer Rd, Dunsborough Rd and Mulcahy Rd, equating to more than $17000 in stolen items.

A car stolen from Kyabram on February 4 was later found in a drain in Merrigum completely burnt out, while a $6000 Honda quad bike taken on February 4 from a farm on Brewer Rd is yet to be located.

A trailer worth $4000 was taken from a paddock on Burnside-Kyabram Rd in the early hours of February 6, and fencing material was taken from a Mulcahy Rd property on February 2, which included fencing wire, steel fence droppers and a two-inch water pump valued at $1600.

Police are unable to determine if the thefts are connected.

Tatura police Leading Senior Constable Kevin Ingram urged anyone with information to contact the Tatura police.

‘‘Particularly in the rural areas, if residents see anything they believe to be suspicious, it’s always better to report than not,’’ Ldg Sen Const Ingram said.

‘‘If you can get the registration of a vehicle... that makes things a lot easier for police.’’
