There was a constant stream of crowds at Victoria Park Lake — the venue for the Federation Internationale De Volleyball World Tour and Food Truck Carnival.

Starting on Thursday last week, the event was expected to draw 15000 spectators, with the finals on yesterday.

Several people got down to Victoria Park Lake on Saturday to soak up the last day of free volleyball entertainment.

A security guard said the three grandstands surrounding the competition court had been packed with spectators from 11am, with crowds dwindling slightly during the afternoon heat when the Vanuatu women’s team took on Italy in the quarter-finals.

Those who could not beat the heat sat under the shaded trees just outside the grounds of the travelling Food Truck Carnival, which geared into action about 6.30pm to 7pm with revellers looking for a tasty dinner treat.

The event was run with the support of Greater Shepparton City Council.
