Fresh off celebrating its first birthday last year, the Shepparton Farmers Market at Emerald Bank Leisure Land yesterday made its return for the new year.

Attendees braved the morning heat, venturing out in search of a deal or top quality produce.

Organisers last year hoped for a strong relationship to be forged between the farmer and the customer moving forward and that locals would be attending the market each week as an addition to their grocery shopping.

They said opportunties on the horizon, including a truck museum proposal, may present the possibility of undercover space to ensure the market could run regardless of weather and help reach a goal of it becoming more regular.
