Miss Corry learned to ride at a young age on her father’s draught horse, but polished her skills with some formal training at a Sydney riding school.

It was during a standard work day herd testing at a dairy farm in Nathalia that Miss Corry was encouraged by a colleague to join Northern Zone Pony Club.

Miss Corry retired from her role as secretary and treasurer of Northern Zone Pony Club aged 82.

She spent 27 years as Pony Club Association of Victoria secretary and was secretary/treasurer of the northern zone for more than 45 years.

Between her roles at Northern Zone Pony Club and PCAV, Miss Corry was also an instructor at Nathalia Pony Club for more than 40 years and a horse steward and showjumping timekeeper for Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society.

Miss Corry died at Echuca following a long illness.

Her funeral is at Nathalia Uniting Church, Chapel St, tomorrow at 11am.
