Crane leaving city skyline

Shepparton’s courthouse crane will be leaving the city’s skyline this weekend, causing a central section of Shepparton’s main street to be closed off.

Wyndham St, from Sobraon to High Sts, will be closed off to north-bound traffic tomorrow and Sunday.

The closure is so the tower crane at the Wyndham and High St intersection can be removed.

If poor weather delays dismantling, another weekend may be necessary, a statement advised.

Greater Shepparton City Council and developer ADCO Constructions ask motorists to find alternative routes.

‘‘ADCO Constructions requests that drivers seek an alternative route and avoid the area,’’ a joint statement read.

‘‘Signage will be in place to direct traffic and the detours will allow for access to surrounding businesses and residents.

‘‘ADCO Constructions thanks the community for their patience while these works are carried out and asks motorists to be aware of workers and machinery at the site for their own safety and for the safety of staff.’’
