Singer: Tatura's Anthony Lucas back in his home town performing.

Tatura’s own superstar Anthony Lucas has been blown away by the response to his newly-released music produced by Los Angeles-based Indasoul Records.

Lucas’s first single from his EP Nothing to Lose and the accompanying music video launched on Tuesday and fans in his home town will able to see Lucas performing the new music at the Tatura community market today from 9am to 1pm.

‘‘I haven’t performed here for years and it’s good to be back performing where it all started,’’ Lucas said.

Lucas, 19, attended Tatura’s Sacred Heart Primary School and then went to Notre Dame College in Shepparton.

He said he always had great support here.

The video clip for Nothing to Lose has reached more than 2000 views the day after it was released and Lucas said it continues to climb every day.

‘‘People have sent me videos of them singing my songs on social media and everyone has been so positive,’’ he said.

‘‘I’ve always wanted to use my talent for entertainment, I want to make people smile.’’

Lucas has been singing since he could first use his voice and always knew he wanted to make music.

In 2013, he created an album with local music producers but really found his feet in 2014 when he competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts, where he was scouted by Indasoul Records.

Lucas said during his overseas trip to Los Angeles in August, it was a great experience working with songwriters, producers and directors who have worked for countless pop stars such as Beyonce.

Lucas is heading back to LA for further recording and performances in the near future and hopes to eventually secure a contract with a company such as Capitol or Sony.

In the meantime, the teen pop star is keen to get on stage and perform.
