Mooroopna Primary School and Mooroopna Secondary College school students gathered at Rodney Park to treat residents to an outdoor concert on Friday.

The afternoon concert had some residents hop up to dance while others bopped along in their seats to a variety of songs such as The Flintstones theme and Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On.

Rodney Park leisure officer Jamima Van Someren said the concert lasted about an hour and it was exciting for the residents to have the students there to perform.

‘‘They enjoy it, it changes up their day-to-day routine and they get a lot out of it,’’ she said.

Ms Van Someren said the weather was fantastic for the concert and the 60 residents who watched it seemed to enjoy it a great deal.

Resident Beth Stewart sat close to the front row to watch the performance.

‘‘It’s good,’’ she said.

‘‘I love being outside to hear it.’’

Fellow resident Pat Wong agreed it was an excellent day to be outside listening to music.
