The final touches are being put on a short film about a fiery event in wartime Rushworth.
A special community screening of Fire in the Belly will be held next month, with seats full.
The film is a fictionalised account of tensions surrounding conscription during World War I.
Rushworth resident Angie Russi helped develop the idea with her filmmaker daughter Cecelia Hedditch.
The idea has taken a long time, with a funding shortfall stopping production, before a crowdfunding campaign filled the budget hole.
‘‘We really hope people enjoy the film,’’ Ms Russi said.
‘‘We have tried to distil a large story into a 25-minute short film.’’
Filming had finished and Ms Hedditch was working on the final edit.
The community screening is on November 11 at 11.30am.
