Harmony Village leisure and lifestyle co-ordinator Joy Peters and volunteer Maree McKenna.

After spending the past 20 years pampering and looking after residents, Harmony Village volunteer Maree McKenna said it had been a rewarding experience.

Ms McKenna spends time with residents doing their hair, nails, and massaging their feet and legs which, for some, is the first time they have experienced such treatment.

‘‘Some people have never had their nails done,’’ she said.

‘‘I really get a lot out of it; hearing stories about their lives is amazing.’’

Ms McKenna was at Harmony Village’s market day yesterday, selling an array of homemade goods to those who visited.

Among the goods was Ms McKenna’s beautiful homemade lemon butter as well as potted succulent plants.

Although the butter did not take her long to make, Ms McKenna said it was a tedious process.

‘‘My chooks laid the eggs and I used lemons from my tree,’’ she said.

‘‘It was made with love.’’
