Candles and tie-dye T-shirts were easy to spot at Shepparton Farmers’ Market on Sunday.
Shepparton Education First Youth Foyer students have been holding a regular stall at the market where they have sold a range of hand-made trinkets in an effort to raise money for their Relay for Life team.
Known as Foyer for Life, the group of students has also been dabbling in event management in the hope of raising $5000 for the cause.
Foyer for Life team captain Caitlyn Hay said they had organised a special dinner at Bill and Beats in Mooroopna and hoped it would be a success.
‘‘It’s all student run,’’ she said.
‘‘Myself and another student are MCing, we’ve got four students as kitchen hands and four students at front of house.’’
The night will also include three guest speakers and a performance by band Slay the Moon.
‘‘We’re looking to have a good night and we’re having prizes on the night which will bring in more excitement,’’ Caitlyn said.
Relay for Life will be held on October 21 and 22 and goes through the night.
‘‘It does not stop, they’ve got lots of activities planned and it’s going to be really good — I’m excited,’’ she said.
Caitlyn said after Relay for Life, the group planned to continue to support different charities by selling their different hand-made items.
‘‘It’s good getting out there and raising money and getting in the community,’’ she said.
The Foyer for Life’s Relay for Life fundraising dinner is on Wednesday, October 11, at Bill and Beats, 106A McLennan St, Mooroopna.
Tickets are $80 and include a three-course meal, entertainment and a complimentary glass of wine. The evening runs from 6pm to 10pm.
