Sit-ups, stretches and boxing were on the agenda for those who braved the changeable weather for a mums and bubs exercise class on Tuesday.

The exercise class was held as part of City of Greater Shepparton’s Activities in the Park and gave mothers the chance to do a workout at the Australian Botanic Gardens, in Kialla, with their children.

The class was run by Everfit’s Louise Morris who knows all too well how difficult it can be for mothers to get out and exercise when they have young children.

‘‘When you’ve got little ones you’re so restricted in what you can do, so to be able to exercise, get out, check out the parks in the area as well and bring your kids too is great,’’ she said.

Ms Morris said the good thing about the exercise class was anyone could attend, no matter their fitness level.

‘‘I just suit it to my participants,’’ she said.

‘‘It doesn’t matter what fitness level people are at, there’s still something they can do.’’

During the class participants completed a variety of exercises such as boxing, stretches and body-weight resistance work.

Shepparton’s Crystal Snowden said the exercise class was great because she was able to bring her son Finlay Brown, seven months, along.

It was the first time Ms Snowden had attended the class and she said it felt like a good workout.

The next mums and bubs exercise class is at the Australian Botanic Gardens Shepparton, at Kialla, on Tuesday, September 19 from 1.30pm to 2.15pm.

There is no charge, and people are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink bottle.
