Goulburn Valley Health Extended Care Auxiliary members presented a $6000 cheque to the hospital’s Mary Coram Unit nurse unit manager Patricia Collier on Monday.
‘‘Part of the money is from our successful afternoon tea and Hidden Figures film event held in May,’’ the auxiliary’s secretary Lolene James said.
‘‘We had about 200 people there, which raised some of the funds towards the figure, with other functions we held throughout the year also contributing.’’
The money funded an ‘Up & Go’ machine, which will be used for rehabilitation purposes at the hospital, including those patients who have suffered from a stroke or are injured.
Mrs James said it was thanks to the generous support of the public that the group was able to present the amount of money it did.
‘‘Many of our supporters feel that one day they might need the aged care wings of the hospital, the Mary Coram and Grutzner House wings,’’ she said.
‘‘We are also keen to get more people involved in the groups and those interested are urged to get in touch.’’
New members are always welcome and can call secretary Lolene James on 58219182.
