A Shepparton man, 26, has been charged over a string of burglaries which are alleged to have dated back to March this year.
On Monday, police executed a search warrant at a Meaklim St, Shepparton, address where they arrested a man.
‘‘We executed a search warrant for his arrest and we also found cannabis and firecrackers,’’ Shepparton police Detective Senior Constable Jason Brown said.
Police have since charged the man with a total of 13 separate offences.
Those offences include five burglaries at commercial buildings in Shepparton on Maude St, Benalla Rd and Wyndham St.
‘‘The burglaries started on March 4 and the last one happened on Sunday morning at 12.05am,’’ Det Sen Const Brown said.
The man also faces a charge of theft from a motor vehicle with police alleging he stole keys from a car and used them to enter a property during one of the burglaries.
One of the businesses that was allegedly targetted by the man was a Shepparton bakery which was burgled on four separate occasions, police said.
The Shepparton man was bailed and is set to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on November 10.
He will be monitored with strict bail conditions that include a curfew.
