A 58-year-old man was treated for serious leg injuries yesterday after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a reversing car.

The man was travelling south down St Georges Rd between Purcell and Vaughan Sts at about 3.10pm when he was hit by the car.

Shepparton Police Sergeant Seach said a 29-year-old female was backing the car out of a driveway and failed to see the motorcycle.

A portion of St Georges Rd was closed while emergency services treated the man for serious leg injuries.

He was eventually transported to Goulburn Valley Health by road ambulance.

Sgt Seach said inquiries were pending in the investigation.
