Murray Football Netball League’s awards night will be held at the Finley Returned Soliders Club this year.

The venue for the Murray Football Netball League’s night of nights this season has been confirmed.

Finley’s Returned Soldiers Club will host the competition’s awards night on September 17, with general manager Dale Norman excited for what should be an outstanding event.

‘‘Since we’ve got no arrangement with any licensed premises we just went with what was suitable and viable for the league,’’ he said.

‘‘The evening will feature the counting and winning of the O’Dwyer medal as well as the netball counts, Ken Muston Isuzu Ute MVP as voted by the club presidents and the Rising Star award.

‘‘I very much look forward to seeing everyone there.’’

The O’Dwyer medal count should go right down to the wire, with no clear standout player in the league.

Stars like Numurkah’s Nick Fothergill, Moama’s Rhys Archard, Cobram’s Tyron Baden and Nathalia’s Bailey Bell could all lay a claim to the title, with plenty more strong chances around the competition.

Those unable to make it to Finley will still be able to watch the action.

‘‘The football and netball counts will be live-streamed on the Shepparton News website,’’ Norman said.

‘‘Hopefully clubs can hold their own functions and still be able to see the counts.’’
