Those who love chocolate will get all that and more at the Mitchelton Chocolate Festival in Nagambie this month.
Now in its second year, the festival promises to deliver on celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations and — of course — chocolate.
This year’s line-up of celebrity chefs includes Adriano Zumbo and Kirsten Tibballs with the exciting addition of MasterChef’s ice-cream queen Christy Tania and Cuvee’s Deniz Karaca.
This will be the second year Ms Tibballs has been part of the Mitchelton Chocolate Festival.
‘‘It’ll be good; I think last year was fantastic,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s such a beautiful setting as well and I’ll be doing some demonstrations on the live stage.’’
Ms Tibballs started her career as a pastry chef and then specialised in chocolate about 15 years ago.
‘‘I love it; it’s not great for the waistline, this career,’’ she said.
Since specialising in chocolate Ms Tibballs has done a lot of festivals around the world focused on the delicious treat.
She said the Mitchelton Chocolate Festival was well balanced and combined two things many people loved: chocolate and wine.
The festival is a partnership between Mitchelton Wines and the Ministry of Chocolate and this year is expected to attract 8000 visitors across the weekend.
Ministry of Chocolate owner and head chocolatier Drew Maddison said the festival would be another step up from last year’s incredibly successful event.
‘‘We’re proud to have established an annual culinary festival during the normally quieter winter months, where visitors stay at local accommodation venues and use the event as an opportunity to explore the wider region and other local attractions,’’ he said.
The Mitchelton Chocolate Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 19 and 20.
Entry is free and the event runs from 10am to 4pm both days at Mitchelton Wines in Nagambie.
