A man from Stewarton has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a crash which claimed the life of another man.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred at Goornong, near Bendigo, earlier this afternoon.
The collision happened on the Midland Highway when two vehicles, a 4x4 Toyota Hilux and a light rigid truck, collided head-on about 1.45pm.
Investigators believe the driver of the south-bound car veered across the highway and collided with the north-bound truck.
The male driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a man from Stewarton, was flown to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.
