While COVID-19 has kept all in lockdown, members of Kyabram Deakin Residents Ratepayers and Development Group have been “meeting” by phone when possible, now that our September meeting is cancelled. We hope we may be able to hold our annual general meeting in November.
However, present circumstances lead us to take one day at a time. So much energy has been poured into dealing with this disease that many other things and people have been sidelined.
Vaccinations have been mismanaged, especially in rural areas. Of course, Australia has never had to handle such a happening. Only those who were around in 1939 to 1945 know of rationing and going without.
We will have to learn to live with COVID-19 for some time to come. We will have to use more common sense and help each other through hard times. Remember there are those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened.
The people of Kyabram and district are known for helping those who are in trouble, so let’s shop locally and support the lonely and neighbours in need. We are a lot better off than some other countries. Keep up hope for a great future and stay safe.
