Police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for alleged break and enter offences in Mathoura.

About 2.40pm Monday, officers attached to Murray River Police District received information a wanted man was near the Edward River within the Murray Valley National Park, Mathoura.
When police attended the location, the man jumped into the river and swam across.
Following further inquiries, police attended a home on Moama Street, Mathoura, about 9.50am yesterday when they located a man hiding inside a roof cavity.
The 49-year-old man was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station where he was charged with one count of aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal.
The outstanding warrant was also executed.
The Mathoura man was refused bail and appeared in Deniliquin Local Court, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court tomorrow.
