Benalla meet called off

January 09, 2017

Wet weather has again impacted on a Benalla Racing Club meeting.

Today's eight-race program has been abandoned because of rain.

Racing Victoria stewards called the meeting off before the first race because of surface water on several sections of the track.

Benalla Racing Club general manager Cameron Symes told The News that the meeting will now take place this Sunday with free entry.

The Benalla Gold Cup was abandoned in September because of poor weather and has been rescheduled for March 25.
