Indonesia appears to have u-turned on suspending defence co-operation with Australia.

Indonesia has softened its military co-operation suspension with Australia.

Senior cabinet minister Wiranto told reporters in Jakarta the suspension only applied to language lessons.

Less than 48 hours earlier it was revealed the Indonesian military had suspended all defence co-operation with Australia because of an incident involving teaching materials causing offence to a special forces trainer at a Perth military academy.
