Upgrades to Seymour Racing Club were announced this week.
The club has received $5000 as part of a $140000 funding package for 14 racing clubs across Victoria.
Racing Minister Martin Pakula said the money would help Seymour Racing Club purchase 15 round tables, 15 trestle tables, 200 chairs and 10 umbrellas.
The funding has been split between the Victorian Government, Country Racing Victoria and regional racing clubs.
Other clubs to benefit from the package include Bendigo Jockey Club and Horsham and District Racing Club.
Mr Pakula said the investment would help sustain jobs and regional economies.
‘‘We’re investing in our regional racing clubs because they help to employ thousands of Victorians and they are a significant contributor to the regional economy,’’ he said.
He said Victoria’s racing industry generated almost $1billion for the state economy and helped sustain more than 9000 regional jobs.
