More than 120 Gribben family descendants on Sunday celebrated the launch of Robert Gribben’s book A Cornish Songline, which explores the history of the family.
The book centres on brothers Joseph, Paul and Edwin Gribben, from Cornwall, who travelled to Australia in the 1860s in search of gold and eventually settled west of Tallygaroopna as farmers.
There are now many descendants of the brothers in the Goulburn Valley and across the nation.
Mr Gribben worked on the book for many years, detailing the extensive history all the way back to Cornwall.
He also describes the factors that brought so many people to Australia.
The book has more than 200 pages and features many photos and images.
More than 100 copies were sold on the day of the launch.
Robert Gribben is the great-great-grandson of Paul and Rosina Gribben.
