More than 1600 people converged on Mooroopna on Sunday to enjoy the annual gymnastics display at Jets Gymnastics.
‘‘It’s an opportunity for the kids to show all their parents the skills they’ve worked on,’’ Jets Gymnastics centre manager Jacci Johnson said.
Local students from as young as one and up to 18 years old participated in the mad-scientist/time-traveller-themed show.
The majority of the 650 Jets Gymnastics students participated with about 400 attendees enjoying each of the four sessions.
‘‘We’re the only gymnastics company in the region,’’ Ms Johnson said.
‘‘Gymnastics is an amazing sport and is probably not showcased enough.’’
Ms Johnson said gymnastics was a great social sport which increased the confidence of many of the children who participated.
‘‘By the end of a child’s time with us they’re very social and parents always compliment us on how well their children are doing,’’ she said.
The number of participants is increasing yearly, and Jets Gymnastics hopes to expand into a new centre soon to cope with demand.
