Bridge closure update

Update- 4pm

The Watt Rd Bridge in Mooroopna has now been re-opened after height restriction works and pothole repairing.

We were out and about and noticed that the Watt Rd bridge was closed.

Council expects to re-open the bridge tomorrow after height restrictions are installed on both entrances.

The works, which is estimated to have cost the council $14,000, will stop overweight vehicles travelling on the bridge and causing unnecessary damage to it.

“We apologise for the inconvenience, however these works will extend the life of the bridge,” Greater Shepparton City Council’s Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker said.
